Love Wines
Love Wines was started in 2014 by Jana Rose. As a single mother with a lot of passion for her vision but not a lot of resources, she started making wine in a tiny rented property on James Street in downtown Ludingon.
Love Wines
Her passion and hard work propelled her forward. Although her advertising budget was almost non-existent and she had to work two other jobs to support her family during the first year of business, her hard work and dedication soon paid off.
Love Wines
Thanks to word of mouth and her loyal customers, her business soon began to flourish. Jana started with less than 500 gallons of total tank space in 2014 and has thus far expanded to over 2,300 gallons of stainless steel, variable capacity tank space.
Love Wines
The winery has produced over 30 different varieties of wines over the years and Jana now works with 3 local vineyards where she and her crew harvest over 10,000 pounds of grapes annually.
Love Wines
Jana's four children have always played a big role in her decisions about the winery. In 2019 she was able to purchase her first commercial sized building which over the years has been retrofitted into a perfect processing, fermenting, and bottling facility.
Love Wines
The remodeling project was immense but the new winery and tasting room have a beautiful view of both Pere Marquette Lake and the amazing Lake Michigan sunsets Ludington is known for.
Love Wines
Jana didn't start out trying to make the best wine in Michigan. She began her journey to make wonderfully fun and unique wines that you can't find anywhere else in this state or beyond..
My name is Jana Rose...
and I'm the winemaker at Love Wines. I have four children who I hope will one day take over the winery. From oldest to youngest my kids are River, Gabriel, Ryker, and Ender. I take a great deal of pride in my family and each bottle of wine I produce. I craft every bottle with love and passion. I open my home and business to all in hopes everyone will find something they truly appreciate here on the shores of Lake Michigan.
